"Digital health assistant" supports home blood pressure self-monitoring
German Hypertension League certifies BloodPressureDB app
For the best possible management and treatment of high blood pressure, doctors need as much data as possible. Home self-measurements are already an established part of care. The BloodPressureDB app supports optimal data capture and has now been certified by the German Hypertension League with its seal for digital health assistants.
Support for doctors
To make it easier to assess treatment success, the records with all values, charts and statistics for a selected period can be requested as a PDF. An interface also allows measurement and vital data to be transmitted directly into the practice software. This lets the doctor respond immediately to changes for example by adjusting medication or ordering other measures.Endorsement by the German Hypertension League
The German Hypertension League has now certified the BloodPressureDB app with the "Digital Health Assistant" seal. In its certification the League looks at whether the app reflects current medical standards, as well as user-friendliness, data protection, and transparency about the app's purpose and limitations. The review is carried out by experienced physicians, health scientists and data protection experts.More information is available at bloodpressuredb.com

Horst Klier developed the portal bloodpressuredb.com in 2009 originally for his own use as someone affected by high blood pressure. The smartphone apps followed in 2011. The service was and remains free, but was early on supported by voluntary donations. From that, BloodPressureDB developed a subscription model with premium features. Various health insurers cooperate with infomail. The German Hypertension League certifies the app as a digital assistant.
