Many people need to keep an eye on their blood pressure all the time. The free iPhone and Android app “BloodPressureDB” is available in version 4 to record all measurements and display them graphically also for the treating physician. The new version now lets you back up data offline for the first time, for example while on holiday where theres no internet connection. High blood pressure causes constant trouble. If your blood pressure is too high, you not only need medication but also constant checks to make sure it doesnt get worse. The problem: you usually dont notice high blood pressure. But it can damage the heart and internal organs.
The free app “BloodPressureDB” by Horst Klier is available for iPhone and Android smartphones to log measured values. The app records systolic and diastolic blood pressure together with the current pulse. Entries are stamped with the date and time when entered.
The app analyzes the numbers and creates a color line chart. That shows measurements over any time period you choose. You can also export the data and chart as a PDF for printing and for showing your doctor, who will then have all the numbers needed for further treatment.
After a short registration, all your data are stored centrally and, thanks to automatic synchronization, can be accessed not only in the web browser but also in all apps. The system also records additional vital signs, including the users weight, blood sugar, body temperature and fluid balance (especially for people with chronic kidney disease, for example after a transplant).
“BloodPressureDB” is now available for many new operating systems
Version 4 of “BloodPressureDB” for iPhone and Android brings an important new feature: you can now enter new data even when there is no internet connection. The app then saves new measurements for example while on vacation or on a business trip and synchronizes them with the online server as soon as an internet connection is available again.
The software is now also available free of charge on many new platforms and operating systems. It can be downloaded for the new Firefox OS, used on mobile Windows Phone 8 and installed as an app on Windows 8 and Windows RT. The app is also available in the Amazon Appstore for the Amazon Kindle Fire.
