High blood pressure is increasingly becoming a common ailment. If it is not recognized and treated in time, it can have serious health consequences.
The free mobile app Blood Pressure Data helps to regularly monitor ones own blood pressure. The app by Horst Klier records the systolic and diastolic blood pressure along with the current pulse. The data is timestamped upon entry.
Users can also note additional vital values, including the users weight, blood sugar level, body temperature, and fluid balance (especially for chronic kidney patients, such as after a transplant).
From the numbers, the app can also generate a colorful line chart. For communication with the doctor, the data and the chart can be exported as a PDF. The printed report of the recorded data can be taken to the doctor.

- Blood pressure glossary: There are some interesting facts about blood pressure that one should know. The new glossary makes all readers smarter and provides the most important facts for reference.
- Blood pressure calculator: This module assesses ones own blood pressure and classifies it according to the guidelines of the WHO/High Blood Pressure League. This way, every user can see how concerning their blood pressure is classified.
- Body Mass Index calculator: Weight and height from a few data points, the app calculates the users body mass index. This is important, as being overweight promotes high blood pressure. The BMI can also be displayed in a 3D view.
- Salt calculator: Too much salt in food can also raise blood pressure. The new salt calculator calculates the salt content in ready-made meals and mineral water.
