General information

BloodPressureDB does not provide a medical diagnosis and cannot determine causes of conditions.

A blood pressure monitor is required to measure blood pressure. The app itself does not perform measurements. Please follow the instructions for your specific blood pressure monitor.

Make all entries and changes carefully.

Avoid third-party access to the app.

Enable automatic updates so the app stays up to date and all functions remain fully operational.

The reports shown by the app are intended for self-management only. Users cannot interpret a direct diagnosis or carry out medical measures based on these reports without consulting qualified medical professionals. The displayed action recommendations are an exception to this.

The software is not intended for use in emergencies or acute situations, nor to detect them.

Not for use by: minors, people with insufficient language skills, or those with severe visual impairment.

BloodPressureDB can be used with or without an internet connection. However, some featuressuch as registration or creating a PDF reportrequire a connection. If there is no internet connection, data will be stored locally on the device. These will be transmitted when the device is next online. Please note that locally stored data remain only on your device and cannot be sent to, for example, your doctor without an internet connection.

Do not run the app in offline mode if you want to send data to your doctor or generate PDF reports, for example.

BloodPressureDB offers reminders for measurements and medication intake. Reminders can only be shown if the app has the required permission. Your device must also not be in "Do Not Disturb" mode. 

Please also set an exception for BloodPressureDB if you use a power-saving feature that closes apps. Manufacturers like Huawei and Samsung include such features; third-party apps are available for other devices. If BloodPressureDB is not allowed to run in the background, reminders cannot be shown.

Do not rely solely on the reminder function to take your medication. It can be affected by a dead battery, a switched-off smartphone, or a crashed app.

Please also note that some devices do not adjust the times of already set reminders when switching to or from daylight saving time.

BloodPressureDB can receive data from blood pressure monitors via Bluetooth. Please note that not all Bluetooth-enabled devices are compatible. Some devices require prior pairing, others do not. Some devices need an initial setup, such as setting the time. In our help article on Bluetooth transmission we describe the procedure and the steps needed for the devices we have tested with BloodPressureDB.

To receive data, Bluetooth must be enabled on your device and the BloodPressureDB app must have the necessary permissions. This also includes permission to access location. This is required by the operating systems; we do not use location information. Without this permission, the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) interface will not work.

Managing medications requires careful entry and maintenance of data. To use the medication management effectively, please record any changes to your medication in the BloodPressureDB app immediately. This helps prevent receiving notifications for an outdated (or discontinued) dosing schedule.

If you revoke or do not grant permissions, the functionality of the BloodPressureDB app will be restricted.

Do not use popup blockers when using the web app. This can prevent important displays from appearing. Also check for popup blockers built into the browser.

Do not use cleaner software that clears browser data when using the web app. This can result in data being deleted before it is transmitted to the server.
